GBST Clearview™ is a user-friendly, robust and flexible solution for brokers requiring seamless, real time integration of their back office applications with CHESS.

GBST Clearview's™ robust and flexible architecture allows brokers to improve system performance and business efficiency. Clearview™ provides real time message translation and handling, using industry standard messaging protocols, via a permanent connection with CHESS, enabling brokers to retire manual or batch file upload processes.

Reduced costs

Brokers can eliminate ongoing product management costs associated with the lengthy CHESS upgrade processes, as GBST performs these upgrades as part of the Clearview™ licence agreement at no extra cost.

Customised solution

Brokers can elect to utilise Clearview Lite™, for real time messaging capabilities with CHESS, or extends its capabilities by using Clearview™. Clearview™ also provides brokers with holdings management and reporting, client/holder/participant data management, securities data management, the capture and recording of corporate action events and the ability to monitor the status of instructions and messages in real time.

Server based application	Can run on existing servers and be accessed from any networked terminal in your business which has access to that server.
Real time messaging application	Removes the need to manually upload received messages from a separate PC. Continuously linked to CHESS as transactions and messages flow across the daily CHESS cycles. Information is always up-to-date. Removes need for uploads and downloads of batch files.
Messaging database	Messages are stored and can be searched using various views from raw data to summaries. Settlement details are maintained as a permanent record of transactions.
JAVA GUI interface	Message management and CHESS reporting management functions make manual message initiation as easy as possible and also requires users to input valid values for fields as required by CHESS.
Fully defined JAVA API	A published ClearView Lite™ API is available to be embedded in any client application. CHESS messaging is seamlessly integrated into your back office processing.
DR / BCS capability	Additional BCS functionality is available. A BCS solution tailored to the needs of your business ensures you are compliant and protects your business in the event of a system failure or outage.

Holdings Management	A comprehensive holdings management and reporting tool. Provides users with the ability to perform standard CHESS administrative tasks related to the setup and maintenance of CHESS HINs
Client / Holder /Participant Data	All administrative functions relating to the creation and ongoing management of a CHESS participant are catered for.
Securities Data	A securities database is provided which includes the ability to accept standard update feeds from the ASX.
Corporate Actions	Corporate action functionality includes the ability to accept standard update feeds from the ASX and to track and manage the “Cum/Ex” status of holdings and deliveries for a corporate action.
Instruction Monitoring & Status Reporting	The ability to monitor the status of all instructions and messages through “live” monitor screens.
Reconciliation /Exception Reporting	A number of key reconciliation reports are provided for audit and operational purposes. The reports can be exported to CSV, printed and/or viewed / saved.
Maker / Checker & User Security	All user input directly into ClearView is subject to Maker / Checker controls prior to transmission to CHESS, whilst the real-time capabilities of the system greatly reduce the need for direct user entry of most transaction based instructions.
User Interface	The operational user interfaces is Java GUI screens. Admin & maintenance functions are character based screens.
DR / BCS	The existing GBST Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Service (DR /BCS) technology is available for use.
Scalability & Performance	Proven scalability and performance through the combination of a Progress RDBMS and Unix operating platform.
Open Interface	GBST’s existing Open Interface middleware provides access to and from external applications.
